I have read and thought about certain poets so much that they feel like surrogate parents. So it is natural to me to look up from my desk and see a beam of sunlight touch the spine of one of their books and think, I feel now like expressing my gratitude, usually in the form of some unspooling enthusiasm that leads god knows where.
